Air drumming just got real.

Air drumming just got real.

AirBeats captures your natural "air drumming" movements, allowing you to make amazing beats in the styles of Hip Hop, Dubstep, Trance, and more.

Another round of accuracy improvements!

As of version 1.2, AirBeats now displays a spherical beater visualization that tracks all of your fingers, along with a very accurate shadow to show you exactly where you are in the virtual drumming space. Playing the drums couldn't be simpler: just collide the beaters with the pads! It helps to extend your fingers or use plain wooden chop sticks or skewers.

A new 'advanced' mode has also been added for expert players. This mode utilizes the free-space strike detection algorithm from v1.1 and earlier. In this mode, you can strike anywhere over a pad to enact the note. This allows for more responsive triggers but can result in unwanted sounds under less than ideal conditions. Be sure to use proper body posture. and Balanced Tracking Priority.

  • "Air drum" over the Leap Motion Controller to play the six zones.
  • Use the virtual beater visualization to make contact with the virtual drum pads.
  • The application detects rapid downward movement of your hands. You can play in a variety of ways: open hands, fingers extended, or using tools. Chopsticks recommended!
  • When not drumming, a cursor tracks one of your beaters (use one finger to move the cursor).
  • All buttons are activated by hovering the cursor over the button.
  • Select kits and patterns by bringing the lists into view with the tabs. Point at the list items to make your selection.
  • Change the tempo using the left/right buttons on either side of the tempo display.
  • Control the transport (play/record/metronome) using the transport buttons at the top.
  • An audio settings dialog is available in the Options menu, in case you need to use a different audio device.
  • Patterns can be saved, copied, and deleted from the file menu.
  • You can export your pattern to an audio file from the file menu.
  • If you dismiss the tutorial with the "Don't show again" button, you can bring it back with the 'h' key on your keyboard.

After long consideration i finally decided to buy this for my mac leap. At first i thought the price was way too high, but if it was as on the demo video it would be worth it. The problem is it keeps changing from "pointing" to "playing" mode very rapidly, with such speed all dots are going crazy and its extremely hard to even tell where your fingers/sticks are. Please fix this bug, make us manually turn on "pointing" or whatever. Til' then this game is unplayable for me....

  • Poor quality

Do not purchase this app. It is riddled with bugs, and poorly utilizes the capabilities of leap motion. A complete waste of money. One of the most annoying bugs for me is that my pointer will always go to the bottom left of my screen (leap motion is completely smudge free), and when I want to rapidly tap in the top right, it messes up, gets stuck half way and starts hitting randomly. Buy something else until they fix it and improve the interface.

  • Doesn't work

Don't waste your money on this crapp...Mine stopped working, and have not heard a peep from the developers. For something that cost $5, this is not only a huge disappointment, the developers should be ashamed that they aren't fixing it. You tarnish the leap motion device with your inattentiveness and your terribly overpriced application. I wouldn't keep this on my computer if it were free. The $5 price tag just makes it sting.

Hi, I played with this app during 3 hours and after this long practice, I tried to record something but it's impossible ... It doesn't recognize well if i'm playing or using menu so it record bad movement etc ... I'm very disapointed of that, we need a better switch between this two modes (play or pointed). And it need some more precision because sometimes, I beat one time, and it play two time ... etc :/ But the app is very cool :) and i'm sure still in development :D.

  • Poor Accuracy

demo looked great. that's why i bought the app. but the accuracy is really very poor. sometimes there's a lag, another time it will hit a drum although u didn't want to, then it doesn't hit it at all. really regret spending 6$ on this…

Great idea, but accuracy is poor as of right now. I'm sure there is a learning curve involved, but I would pass on this until the kinks get worked out.
