Create Beautiful Patterns with Your Finger Tips

VIZ.it is a tool that lets you create recursive art in real time, using the Leap Motion Controller. Each finger is tracked individually to create amazing designs on the fly.

Real Time Art. Full Control.

You have visual control over the algorithms that are used to generate the visualizations, including Color, Shape, Number of Segments, etc. Here are the controls that you have to your disposal:

  • Segments: the number of segments that are generated.
  • Type: The type of blend mode that is used. This will change the look of the shapes according to how the layers of colors intersect.
  • Opacity: The opacity control for the shapes.
  • Linger: The amount of time it take for the shapes on the screen to fade.
  • Texture: Similar to Type, this one controls the type of technique that the lines are drawn with.
  • Color: A color picker for the line.
  • To randomize, click the spacebar, or the "Randomize All" button.
Let Your Fingers Dance to the Music

Under the Music section, you can load audio files, or load a playlist from your iTunes library. It is truly enjoyable to see how these shapes move while the music is playing. The audio itself isn't controlling any of the visualization just yet, but we are working on adding that feature.

Save, Present and Export

When you create a setting you like, you can save it, present it on any screen or even export it as a PNG.

Enjoy VIZ.it and tell us what you think!

well it wasn't worth the money i paid for it. just doesn't do ANYTHING. i mean at all. it's not that it works badly, it does nothing at all. just little dots that follow my fingers....big freaking deal. the fact that there is no way to give the developer input even when i went to their site. you can leave a message if you want to invest with them but nothing if you want help or to give them input. i would be very hesitant to deal with this company in the future.......

The patterns you can generate are nice, but it bores quickly.

Sorry but I feel like I'm missing the point with this app.

  • Too basic

This app could be improved a LOT. You should be able to "draw" with 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 fingers, not just with 5. Also, It would be a good idea to add some random parameters through hand inclination or twisting. Just saying. Excluding that, I think the app has a lot of potential, and I would like to see further updates and more features.

  • Pretty rudimentary...

I think that if more of the parameters were exposed to direct manipulation with LEAP, it might be a better experience (change color, geometry, etc. without the keyboard). Also, I think it would be good if the visuals were a blend of characteristics of the music (like a trad visualizer) + the user's manipulation. Finally, the end result could be more visually rich; there is a lot of visualization territory to explore beyond kaleidoscopic line segments.

  • Boring

I found this app to be quite boring. It seemed to me that I could just activate or deactivate some random visualisation. Maybe a tutorial would help?
